Nature Does Colour-Blocking

I try to keep a few bunches of fresh flowers in my house all the time. It makes me feel so much like an upper west side socialite having her house photographed for Vogue.

My husband just took these pictures of a spring-inspired tulip bouquet on the dining room table. Can't you see the Roksanda I. in them?

  1. There's something so grown up and civilized about fresh flowers. I look forward to some continued spring breezes that will inspire me to "freshen up" the house

  2. Ha! This is the same reason I keep flowers around! "It makes me feel so much like an upper west side socialite having her house photographed for Vogue."

  3. i love having flowers too. they always seem like such a grown up and slightly frivolous expense. whereas i wouldn't think twice about spending the same money on random jewellery or tights or something.

  4. I love these photos, and I can't get enough of tulips in general, so I'm sold. Your house is really nice. Your husband is a good photographer.

  5. Miss C: I know, they do make me feel grown up. Like I have enough maturity to know where to find them and money to pay for them (not that I spend a lot) and skills to arrange them in vases which I own...

Riz: So glad I'm not the only one. And happy to get your comment. Can't wait to see your next post.

Poppy: What a perfect name you have for this post! :-) I have this great place I go to every Thursday and I can get 3 bunches of flowers for approximately 20 bucks.

Enc: My husband thanks you for the compliment. Thank you so much for saying something nice about my house. I really love this house, which is more than 100 years old. I should write a post on it (The Fashion of Homes?) because it's got so many stories and so many fine architectural features. It's not all "designed", but I think it reflects my and my husband's personalities (moderated by one another). K
