Now This Is Improvising

Admittedly, I've always thought that Letterman is an arrogant idiot, but if this doesn't have you peeing your pants laughing, I want to know about it.

  1. Julia Child is truly one of the funniest humans ever to have LIVED. But I still can't believe she made him eat raw ground beef.

  2. Beef tartar is seriously just raw meat? I guess I won't be trying that anytime soon.

  3. I remember serving beef tartar all the time when I worked in a little French bistro in Ottawa . . .

  4. Beef tartar is generally a higher quality meat ground during prep and not purchased that way.

    Great video! Great improv!

  5. It's raw beef with raw egg, a little onion, and salt and pepper.

    If that makes a difference.

  6. That is funny as all get out. But I always think Julia Child is grand. I think she improvised mightily well. I often have an urge to slap Letterman.

  7. I get how Meryl Streep could play her in that movie now. Probably didn't even have to learn the accent. Wanna see it now. xx

  8. Hysterical, I love how she said that she feeds her disasters to her husband!

  9. And they look alike! Could it be a split screen with David Letterman in drag? xx

  10. Sal: She was a powerhouse. He was under her spell :-)

Wendy: I practically spit coffee out while watching it.

Raven: It's got some raw egg too :-) Seriously, though. It's excellent.

Miss C: I love it, but I'm very fussy about it for obvious reasons.

Ricky: You are totally right. When I've made it at home I use incredibly high quality beef and I don't chop it till ready to eat.

    D.: It makes a difference! :-)

Mardel: She even manages to make Letterman a little less smarmy here. But only a little.

Hammie: Didn't love the movie though it was a fine way to spend a couple of entertainment hours. I'm going to watch it again to see how they look alike...

Belle: And I believe it :-)

  11. That is f'ing hilarious! I have worked with at least 2 of the authors listed on the Accidental Cook book cover, and never have we recorded a TV show segment like that!
