A few weeks ago I tried a new drink at Terroni. I cannot remember the name but it's made of Aperol and prosecco, on ice, and it's a perfect combo of bitter, sweet and bubbly. The colour alone - the most amazing, neon shade of tangerine - makes it entirely worth ordering. I haven't seen this booze at the LCBO (it lives near the Campari) but I will snap it up as soon as I do.
Have any of you tried Aperol? Thoughts?

Never tried it but it LOOKS good!
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried it -- but that drink looks very similar to a wonderful Negroni variant I had on the weekend, made with orange sherbet -- MMMmmmmm! Also a perfect mix of bitter and sweet, although without the bubbly.
ReplyDeleteWendy: So good! Like addictive.
ReplyDeleteMaterfamilias: It does have a real negroni vibe. And that drink sounds YUM.
Gosh I was thinking about a nice cup of coffee until I saw this - looks fabulous! I might look like a nutter soon looking for it in the spirit aisle!
ReplyDeletehaven't tried this, BUT I did try the new President's Choice Italian Soda, blood orange flavour, and it's fabulous! Now, what alcohol should I mix into it?
ReplyDeletei've never heard of this but anything mixed with prosecco has got to be good!
ReplyDeleteHmmh I don't drink alcohol but this one looks quite nice :).
ReplyDeleteI so wanted to love Campari as the colour is heaven, and yet it tastes like medicine. Your drink looks lovely and refreshing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Belette - one evening I heard my Dashing Uncle order a "Campari and Soda" and it sounded so cool I ordered one the very next time I went out... it was so bitter I couldn't drink it but I was too embarrassed to send it back ... maybe next time I will try it mixed with Prosecco!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried it, but it's a beautiful color, you're right!
ReplyDeleteRight now, anything with alcohol would be welcome.
ReplyDeletegood LORD it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteKate: You could chase this with a coffee!
ReplyDeleteT: I TRIED it and I LOVED it! Do vodka :-)
Pink: I'm with you on that.
Nadine: It's like a fun colour you would wear!
Bel and Tessa: I don't like Campari either. I mean, I'll take it in small doses if it's part of a good drink. This pink stuff is more palatable.
E: It's prettier than it is tasty but the whole package is delish.
D.: I second that.
J: I know. Like a sunset...
