Painfully Adorable

I'm not going to underplay it; these are the cutest socks ever:

I used the Baby Birthday Socks by Seasonal Fibres, though next time I have occasion, I will likely use Angela's (free) pattern which is equally adorable. I went down a needle on the 6-12 month size (recommended when the baby is younger than 6 months). I seriously can't tell you how much I love these things. They're the most adorable size and shape in a fun, unisex pattern.

Now I simply have to meet some more people with babies.

  1. My mother, great knitter, made so many socks for my twin daughters! I tried to keep all the beautiful knits she made for all my children but from time to time a very tiny variegated knit sock drops out of a hiding place (my girls are 13 now) and makes me smile!

    1. It's the Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock that I used on the socks for my mother this fall. It's machine wash and dryable and I LOVE that yarn. I see more in my future. Very durable but lovely.

  4. So darn cute! Yeeeeeears ago, I used to use my leftovers from socks to make socks for the son of friends of ours. (He's well over 6 feet tall now, and has a beard and mustache - that shows you how long ago it was!) He loved wearing them and was always asking me for more!

    1. It's scary when the babies end up having beards and mustaches. But I'm sure he'd love grown up boy socks just as much :-)

  6. I've started knitting little socks for the little feet close to me . . . so cute and they are done almost before you start! Why wasn't I making these earlier?! Yours are a delight. . .
