Is This For Real??

Um, yes, apparently. Norwegian TV station, NRK, intends to broadcast, uninterruptedly, 5 hours of competitive knitting. Look, I'm a girl who can't tell you the rules of hockey (a Canadian girl!), but I am watching this, dammit.

  1. NRK does things like that. Thay have also transmitted 8 hours of trainride (camera in front) from a remote trainroute to the northern parts of Norway with very pretty landscape. Very popular. Probably very relaxing to watch.

  2. Oh, I'd love to see this catch on to the extent that some of "their" favourite shows might get bumped by quarter-finals and semi-finals and some cup tournament or other. . . There are rules to hockey?

    1. Apparently there are rules. Theoretically. :-)

  3. Competitive knitting? I find that strange, I associate yarn arts with a sense of community rather than competition. Like my Nana's stitch & bitch group or our online communities. But... I suppose there are some serious knitting skills out there that deserve their own showcase.

    1. I know but I love the sheep to finished garment element. That is a bit adrenaline-producing.

  4. LOL - I'm a Canadian girl who doesn't know the rules of hockey. I don't even ... shh... don't tell anyone... like hockey and never watch it. Ever. I don't think I'd watch five hours of knitting either though. Hmm...

    1. I am really glad to hear that I am not the only one! But I would watch this knitting - if only after taping it to fast-forward, as necessary.
