Smooth Like Butter(ick)

You know you have a "pattern purchase problem" when you receive new parcels in the mail and you can't even remember having ordered them. To wit, my latest surprise:

This dress has certainly been popular with bloggers. Look at Kim's version.

I don't even know where to put this in the queue of things I want to make. Hmmm...

  1. I think you have the perfect figure for this dress.

  2. Oh I've done that. But not this time. (I hope)

That is a great dress and I think it will look fabulous on you. I know I didn't order it although I wavered back and forth a good bit, but decided that the lovely angled lines would not be as flattering as I would like.

  3. Ooh, make me one. I would love the sleeveless version in gray and I would like some of the panels to be in black. LOVE it!

  4. That's happened to me with vintage dresses and eBay...

  5. i like it! and i am curious to see what color you would make it in!

  6. I like this one, especially without the sleeves!

  7. This would be really easy to draft and SUPER fun to ad blocks of colour to! :)

  8. Wow...I've never had someone link to one of my blog posts! Thank you! This dress is actually fairly simple to make but it takes a bit of patience. There are no "panels" to it. The bodice is just a front and a back and you get the shaping by doing darts and the pleats.

Your post made me realize that I hadn't worn it since the party and decided to dress it down today with boots and a cashmere cardi wrap for work. I'm definitely considering the sleeveless version for the summer. I can't wait to see your version.

  9. Very Herve Leger = looking forward to this one xx

  10. Susan: Thank you!

M: I think they would look great on a tall frame!

Bel: Oooh, gray would be chic!

Wendy: It's happened to me again - have another mystery parcel to pick up from post office...

    Jade and Droll: Merci!!

Stacey: I'm amazed by how everyone is loving the sleeveless version. I'm doing the sleeves this time out...

Queen: Maybe easy to draft - but a pain in the ass to fabric mark!

Kim: Going to put it together today. Wish me luck!

    Lisa: So true!
