Spring, where are you?

Let's try to find spring spirit - aka some energy - with this masterpiece of clean lines:

Oh, shock!, it appears to be a gorgeous urban garden...

Seems I'm very interested in dining tables right now.

How are you managing the end of winter, northern hemi friends?

  1. Blech! I'm so ready for Spring!!! I have daffodils coming up already so that's a good sign!

  2. The end of winter is bringing illness (for the children), which I was so happy to have avoided earlier. Ughughugh.

  3. You see this is house design porn!

Oh I wish it was mine too. I'm feeling better at the moment as spring is showing a bit of itself. One day at a time...

  4. We've had such a mild winter with less snow than usual, I'm not complaining.

  5. I HATE winter. Really, I should move to a whole different climate. People always think I wasn't born in the Northeast because I hate winter so much. I have to explain that I've always lived here but hate the cold more each year.

  6. Heather: I am so beyond jealous that you have plants blooming!

Miss C: Ugh is right. That change of season glitch can be really wretched - esp. with 3 kiddies to (potentially) get sick - and give it!

Kate: Something tells me if I could look at that backyard all the time I'd feel just fine.

Raven: OK, it's true. Even here it's true. But I'm still waiting anxiously for better weather.

Wendy: I know, every year the hatred intensifies. Doesn't bode well for old age. Unless we move to Spain.

  8. Uh... well, let's see... we just had a 3 day blizzard. Yuck. Oh, and it followed a two day blizzard just a couple of weeks ago. Joy. Actually today it got up to 47 degrees in NYC and all of the snow melted! :-)

  10. If you are going into spring, it means that we are now in Autumn and the end of summer is nigh which saddens me some.

We haven't had a stupid hot summer this year so I've been enjoying the weather.

Lovely place - invite me over when it's yours.

  12. It is spring like here.. very, very windy, near 60, I wonder if we are on the brink of spring.. which I can't wait... I try to hang laundry when I can but I also love my dryer.. so cold days. not so nice to hang laundry out.. freezing hands..but got it down so that i can get out, and get in...

I want to get a few plants inside, two large.. somehow green makes me feel perky.. and I bet you are excited to make use of that fab addition you added last year.

  13. Bel: I was trying to be discreet in case you have privacy issues :-)

Stacy: Melted snow is the WORST - it's torture on the boots.

droll: If you like stairways, wait till tomorrow!

Imogen: At least, when the season is extreme, you can look forward to the pendulum swing of the next one. Our summer last year was non-existent. I don't know that we can handle another without all going nuts.

    Jules: Glad you like it!

April: You continue to surprise me - seriously, you hang your laundry?! That's so enviro friendly and old-fashioned. I love it.

  14. I am managing the end of winter by daydreaming about summer mornings spent picking blackberries.

  15. We don't have "winter," but we did have some cold weather, and I'm glad to say it's gone now.

I love the tables. I'd be happy to share in a meal at either one of those!

  16. D.: What a great strategy!!

E: Definitely. I often think of you and your fabulous (relatively) weather. It's nice to know someone gets daffodils (in the ground) in Feb...

  17. I just sighed longingly looking at this. I am not managing as well as I should be. I keep getting sick, and I am just so tired of the cold and the grey.
