The Last One For A While

Last gift post, I mean.

Here's something super luxurious my husband bought me - another necklace! It's made by glass designers Phuze.

I am absolutely smitten with its modernist, sexy sleekness but - and maybe you can predict my proviso - this piece is very heavy. And by heavy I mean it's a huge chunk of glass. It weighs quite a lot for my hair-trigger, princess-y shoulder muscles.

So I'm trying to decide what to do. Do I keep it and wear it very occasionally (as if I'm some kind of special-occasion jewel lady)? Do I return it? I just don't know... Thoughts?

  1. Your man has good taste. And he showed early on by picking you to be his blushing bride.

  4. Monkey: I assure you, the blushing was all his :-) And thank you!

  5. Well gorgeous item and very thoughtful but if it is too heavy and you won't wear it - I'd take it back and get something else otherwise you'll always feel weighed down. My husband once got my sister in law to get me some earrings for xmas as literally 2 weeks earlier petit garcon was born - they are nice but not really me so I've worn them all of once! If somethign makes you hesitate then it will never work...but your husband still get top award for effort, thought and choice, he couldn't have factored in the heaviness!

  6. If you love it, keep it and wear it occasionally. Not everything has to be worn every day.

  7. Your husband has a wonderful taste. I would keep it and try to wear it. Maybe for dinner or going out, things which you do for a few hours, so that the heavyness won't disturb you. But if you don't feel comfortable with it, then you should return it though I love the shape of this necklace.

  8. Thanks for you wonderful offer to help out in the wardrobe dept. I will consider as I work out many other kinks. You are too kind and I do appreciate.
    Holt Renfrew or Moores?
    LOL

  9. If it's so heavy that you really won't wear it, then I say exchange it - do they make a similar bangle, maybe?

  10. Keep it, and lift some weights so your shoulders can handle it! ;)

  11. I just caught up on all the fun gift posts. This is absolutely gorgeous. I understand about the weak shoulders - mine are the same, a shirt that pulls down too hard can give me a headache - but I'd still keep it to wear whenever the mood hits!

I will say keep it and wear it occasionally.

  14. MDS: I totally hear you. And yet, when I suggested bringing it back (to my husband), I felt he wasn't loving it. Nonetheless, I'm sure he won't want me to keep something I can't wear...

...Which brings me to WendyB's and Fructzwerg's idea. Wearing it occasionally might work. I took some photos of it on today. I'll post them soon. It does look pretty, IMO.

Hey Dave: As I mentioned in my email, no pressure. (I save that for people I know well! :-)) And I think we can negotiate something between Holt's and Moore's. Yes?

Skye: Very smart suggestion. I went back there today and they have the same necklace - but smaller sized - I may exchange for that one.

E: How did I know you'd come up with that challenging idea! :-)

Hey Stacey: You know exactly what I mean. A shirt can cause the freakin' problem. It's so princess and the pea! By the way, what does Princess start with? :-)

Seeker: You always give great advice. BTW, Happy Birthday!!

Jen: Thanks! Check it out. The costs are pretty reasonable given the quality. I can tell you it looks luxe!

  19. Songy: He does know me well. But not well enough to know my neck aches with heavy pendants! (What's 15 years, in the scheme of things?)

Janet and Imogen: If I decide to give this away I will put your names in a hat! :-)
