Lunch at the AGO

M told me that she would "literally kill me" if I posted this selfie of us lunching at the Grange:

What can I say, I live dangerously.

I want you to know that I am 45 years old and I'm not wearing a lick of makeup. And I look just fine, thank you.

We walked home and managed to spend a bunch of my money at the OVO store. It was so warm that I had to take off my coat. This is one of those days that keeps us all from killing ourselves before spring because, for 4 hours, there's actually bright sun in the sky at an altitude that one could construe is overhead.

We saw this crazily chorophylled evergreen on the way and I liked its vibe:

Thank God for these glimmers of ease.

  1. Aww, look at her dimple! What a cutie - we should see more pictures of her! Lookin' good, lady!

    1. Thanks G! I wish she'd let me post photos of her because, at this point, she really is gorgeous - youth plus natural beauty. Alas, she has the personality of a feral cat these days.

  2. That's your daughter? You two are gorgeous!! She's so grown up! How does she manage to look smart and edgy and yet so full of health all at once? and that dimple!
and yes, you look absolutely fine without makeup -- are you not wearing mascara even? Your eyebrows, glasses, great skin, and really good hair make this not an issue at all. . . I already said "gorgeous," right?

    1. Thank you so much F! You know M will be 16 in a month. She wasn't wearing makeup (which is, of course, the way one looks best at that age) and she says she can't be seen without her eyeliner?! (She does this cat thing with the eyeliner.)

I was wearing tinted lip balm. That's it. Of course, it was a good photo (unlike the zillions of others that are so wretched I delete them immediately!). Got to strike while the iron is hot. :-)

  3. I would not go out without makeup. Small children would run screaming! You, on the other hand, look gorgeous. And M is a beauty. Do you have a big stick by the door to beat off suitors?

    1. You are hilarious - and crazy. You look gorgeous with make up or without. We can't beat the suitors, alas, because she hides them all. It's own sort of problem.

  4. I am utterly envious of how you look without makeup. Good thing I am enlightened, or else I would resent you for it!

    1. Thank you so much, Ann! I have an interesting story about my kid and the skin care that I'll no doubt recount soon.

  6. That's such a lovely relaxed photo of you both. We had some beautiful sunshine yesterday too, which made me hopeful that the rain might just leave for a while this year.

    1. You know, the next day it got freezing and we had hail turned to sleet. And then a snowstorm. But it's inexorably moving towards spring!
