Un Coeur En Hiver

Seriously, every winter I wonder why I don't just bite the bullet and move to Montreal:

Photo from Spacing Montreal.  This scene is veritably "downtown". You can just walk up that mountain for exercise - and access to one of the most unexpected water and city vistas in the world. Plus there's hot chocolate at the top!
(And it's even better in the other seasons.)

  1. Dreaming of a cafe au lait (en bol) at Duc de Lorraine. . . with a brioche en sucre to dip . . . . after a long walk up the hill, in the snow . . . .

    1. Ah, way to add to the torment :-) At least it's sunny here today. I mean, sunny and -18.

    2. Wow! Dose of reality! Maybe I'll stay here, on the grey coast where it's 7 degrees ABOVE the zero . . . ;-)

  3. Ahhh, some of my most memorable dining moments have been in Montreal. I used to stay with a beau's family in the chateau apts across from the Ritz (shameless status drop, I know) and savour the weekend ...

  4. Oh... I love Montreal. And the mac+cheese at Olive et Gourmando in Vieux Montreal launched my quest for the perfect recipe.
