It's Winter

Alas, winter in TO generally means dull skies and a certain amount of humidity with that cold (aka the most drab version of the season). So let's look at a Canadian city, geographically situated for dry, sun and cold - ok, and snow:

Wouldn't you like to be there right now?

  1. I just keep reminding myself it could be worse - I could be in Winnipeg. :)

  2. I would prefer California. Really )))
It's about freezing point where I live (north-east of Ukraine) with rather high humidity (so dull skies for weeks). Not pleasant at all.
And I doesn't like snow ) I like late spring and Indian summer (and they are both terribly short :-( ).

    1. Ok, I imagine it's quite like this climate. What city are you in?

    2. Kharkiv/Kharkov (there are two variants: Ukrainian and Russian). And I guess that climates we live in have a lot in common.

    3. They do! And I'm embarrassed to say I had never heard of your city till I looked it up on the internet. What a fascinating place!

    4. Thank you and don't be )) Nobody can remember all the cities in Europe ) and Kharkov isn't the city which is often in the news and I love that: because news from Kyiv (our capital) right now are about riots on the streets.

    5. The architecture is particularly interesting - old and classic mixed with the Stalinist brutalism. I'd love to twitch my nose and get there for a weekend. I bet it's a great place to hang out.

    6. I've never thought about my home city as a tourist attraction or as a place with "interesting architecture", it's just that there are a lot of cities in Ukraine and Russia that are so much older and host World Heritage objects, so thank you for that.
I think that going to Toronto and Montreal would be fun, too.

  3. I used to live by the North Atlantic but now I live by the Coral Sea. I'm never going back.

  4. Hmm, the more time I spend outside Florida, the more I miss it. We had sunny and dry and freezing cold in Cheyenne, WY. But sunny and warm is better.

    1. Yeah, I do see the appeal of warm and sunny - but humid I do not like!

  5. Yes, but mostly because I'd be eating crepes or fondue (possilby both) and having a glass of wine. A big glass of wine.

Although I can agree with Birdmommy, it's not Winnipeg. That is a realistic threat with Manitoban inlaws. I know they have more sun, which would be nice, but it was snowing in October.

    1. That is exactly what I'd be doing too :-) Snow in Oct = crappy.
