Way to Get Ahead

My husband who, for years, has been threatening to shave his head, disappeared this morning into the basement and, 20 minutes later, reemerged looking like a cross between Mr. Clean and this dealer who lives up the block.

My daughter, on seeing him, screamed from shock, started crying and ran to her room. That was 15 minutes ago.

Did I mention no one's made me coffee yet? This should be an interesting day...

  2. You won't need coffee in the morning for the next six weeks; this'll be your wakeup call!

How do you feel about it?

Is little miss over it yet?

  4. OMG--Mr. C is always threatening the opposite: to grow a Lord Tennyson-type beard. Do you like it? Does he need a tan? :)

  5. Y: Something like that! And this weather is making it all the better :-)

E: I think you may be right. I don't know yet how I feel about it. How someone can be ambivalent about something this extreme is beyond me, but that's where I'm at.

Lloyda: My daughter's response was so extreme. It would have been funny if it hadn't been so obvious she was really freaked out.

Miss C: That's just about as scary :-) See response to E above but on the topic of needing a tan, the answer is YES. His head is kind of grey?!?

  6. I'm greeted by this sight every morning. My Mr has been shaving his head for 13 years now. But he grew a goatee beard just before my first daughter was born. the other week we thought it might be a nice change if he shaved it off. Miss 4 howled in horror - she had never seen Daddy like that in her life. He started growing it back the next day.
So I feel for your poor girly, its the little things that can unhinge your whole world.
Oh and tell you Mr not to forget the sunscreen!

  7. V funny story, SKM. I think my husband may be on the path of regrowing the hair. We're all a little shocked everytime we look at his (lightbulb shaped) scalp :-)

    Thanks W.
