The Kind of Grey I Can Manage

This room is the embodiment of sexy:

In keeping with my theme, it appears to be English. Gotta say, I love orange and grey mashups.

So, whatcha think? Could you live here? Does this room envelope you with its manly elegance? Does it remind you of a vampire lair? Do tell...

  1. oh my god, that color combination of a slate/moody french grey with pops of orange is basically how i envisioned my living room when the bf and i moved to our apartment 3 years ago. our dark grey couch is, in fact, done in this exact color combo with deep orange throw cushions. yes i am a total design dork but this is one of my favorite color combinations - interior decor, clothing, you name it! :)

  2. My bedroom is a light grey called silver fox and orange. I love it!

  3. I love grey, but I don't love orange. However, I do like the room, which goes to show why I'm not an interior decorator, because sometimes I have no imagination like that. ;-) I tend to gravitate towards grey and green/blue/burgundy personally, but I think that those colors would be too little contrast in a room like that. my bedroom is currently a bright grassy green, and someday (*snort*) I think I'll make some cream and charcoal grey accents for it--like curtains, pillows, and a duvet cover. Probably finish them about 3 weeks before we plan to sell the house though. LOL!

  4. I'm currently loving grey anything - this is great! It sort of reminds me, though, of that run-down mansion that the vampires hung out in during season 3 of buffy. That just makes it more awesome, though!

  5. I love gray and orange, but I prefer my living room light and bright and unsexy ;), so mine is a lighter shade of gray.

Dark colors on the walls combined with some pops of color always look very appealing an striking to me. Perfect for a bedroom where you don't plan to spend all your time sleeping.

  7. I thought those interior shots were of your living room for a second!

I love orange and grey, especially tangerine and a cold steel-blue grey.

  10. OMG... I heart grey. Always and forever. I was on such a grey and yellow kick for a while, but I also love it with orange or with a punch of cobalt.

  12. I love that room, and the couch is just perfect in it, as are the other pops of color. I definitely want the lamp. But would like it better as a bedroom or sitting room off a bedroom than as my living room. I think I want more light, although perhaps that is just because I already live in a dark house.

  14. Sophie: I know!

    Erika: I love that name.

CGC: Orange is one of my favourite colours. I think of it as a neutral :-)

Patty: It is a bit scary lair, no?

Monkey: I knew you'd see it my way.

Roses: I see your point. I do think of this as a place in a cold climate. And a winter room.

Janice: Oh, glad I bamboozled you for a second!

Kristin: I have grey accents in my living room...

    Suzy: I know, I know!

Stacy: I love grey with yellow! Or silver with yellow.

    Sewn: I know, it's awesome.

Mardel: I can see how it would work better as a bedroom or a library.

    Libby: It is regal!

  15. Better on walls than in my hair!

  16. Wendy: Indeed. If only it were as easy to fix one's living room, as one's hair.
