Alas, the pattern wasn't for sale.
Sometimes, though, the knitting goddess throws you a great pattern at the perfect time. To wit:
Chuck Sweater by Andi Satterlund - You can buy it on Ravelry at this link... |
Mind you, this is a democratic process (sort of :-)) so I must know what you think.
It's down to the Chuck (photo above) or the Inaugural Sweater.
Do weigh in! Which one do you prefer for me, at this time, in this series?
I love this one. For whatever reason I have an easier time imagining you in the Inaugural Sweater, though design wise I prefer this one.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I really love them both but I've wanted to knit this one since first I laid eyes on it.
DeleteThat alone is reason enough to pick this one. Knitting isn't about practicality. We can buy practical things. With the amount of time we spend on knitting, it should be spent on projects we feel passionate about.
DeleteIt's so true, Katy.
DeleteBoth thumbs up for this -- great way to show off that yarn's definition of the stitches. Those cables will really pop!
ReplyDeleteI know! I may have to figure out the sizing - I'm an S in the shoulders but an M in the bust (maybe an S again in the waist). Because of the cables, I won't be able to short row. However, if I get slightly larger gauge in slightly thicker yarn then maybe I'll opt for the S all around. As you can see, I'm thinking about it actively. Note: I'm making both of these, it's just a matter of which one I'll do as part of this knitting series.
DeleteACK. I looove Andi's stuff, will definitely be knitting this one.
ReplyDeleteI love the Inaugural sweater, but this one definitely has my vote.
Too much fabulousness! How can we choose? :-)
DeleteGood grief that is gorgeous. Dust off your needles and cast on as soon as is humanly possible.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that my yarn is still en route?! I got stuff from England in 4 business days. This is going on 7 business days and it's practically around the block (shipping wise).
DeleteI'm still in the Inaugural Sweater camp. It's stunning and different, while - beautiful though it is - this sweater seems fairly standard IMHO.
ReplyDeleteBut the two are so very different that I suppose it boils down to how you see yourself wearing each and what makes more sense to your wardrobe and tastes.
I really do love the Inaugural. I would totally have made that one if this hadn't just popped up. And I might still. When I see the yarn, it will tell me what to do :-)
DeleteWhat a cool top - I like this one!
ReplyDeleteNoted! :-)
DeleteThis one, this one! It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNot too late for you to make it :-)
DeleteI say: make both! You've proven to be a speedy knitter. But like I said above - do the one you feel most excited about first (which seems to be this one).
ReplyDeleteOf course, this is the ideal solution. And if my online yarn doesn't deliver VERY soon I'm going to lose my mind and go buy more yarn from the shop down the street. Then I'll have enough for both. Hmmmm, this has me thinking.
DeleteOoh pretty! I love Andi's patterns too. Go with what the yarn tells you when it arrives...they are both great choices :)
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first try with her patterns but I have admired them for some time!
