I am not the world's most photogenic person. Just ask my mother. (Caveat: My husband seems to bring out the best in me, so I'm excepting his pics...) Having said that, the photo below - taken by Peter at the Chelsea Flea Market (which, btw, I've heard about in media 15 times since going, though I'd never known of it before) - really captures my joy of browsing:

Yes, I may be cuter in person (or at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it), but my natural enthusiasm is all over this photo, and it's a quality that's pretty hard to capture in a still shot.

PS: Though I'm still looking for the perfect vintage Hermes scarf, every time I unfold one, I get a jolt of thrill.

  1. Are you kidding? you are stylish AND adorable at the same time. How many people pull that off? I love your style!!

  2. Kristin, when I met you I was wowed by your personality -- I felt like little Patrick with Auntie Mame!

  3. So, did you buy the scarf? I recognize that face, but have learned to mask it at flea markets until I walk away from the booth with a steal of a deal. Your smile is infectious!

  4. Did you make the cape - please say yes!!

  5. omg, you are way too cute!
    great pic.

  6. You're gorgeous.

  7. Kristin, what a cutie pie you are!

Peter's comment is a serious compliment. Who wouldn't want to feel like Patrick with Auntie Mame?

  8. Such a great shot- the unfurling of the Hermes- hopefully the day you find the perfect one there is someone to capture the moment!

  9. Personally, I'm still a little sad to know that you were in the city and I didn't know this...:( but judging from the picture here and the ones on Peter's blog, you had a really good time and that makes me happy! :)

  10. Ahh, a totally spontaneous smile is a thing of joy!

  11. a little sewing: Thank you so much!

Peter: What a fantastic compliment xoxoxo I had such a great time with you at the market.

Couture: No, I didn't buy it. I still try and work the deal - despite my inability to keep the grins off my face :-)

Kate: Alas, no. Got it in NYC at Barney's.

    F: Thank youxoxo

J: So great to see you! Thank you.

Wendy: It's my Empire State of Mind look :-)

    Susan: Isn't it?? Thank you.

Tricia: I really hope so too :-)

Carolyn: Next time I so hope to have a chance to meet you. This trip was so whirlwind.

    Miss C: I know!

    A: You are too sweet.
