In my 20s I was blond. I enjoyed it but the upkeep was ridiculous and, eventually, I felt more brunette than anything else.
Almost 15 years later, I've decided it's a trend I need to re-explore - with the benefit of modern colour processing (natch) and in the context of my current age and stage.
Meet my new hair:
Whatcha think?

Groovy!
ReplyDeleteIt is great - I would love to have the choice. I'm a natural blond so look ridiculous with dark hair, I've tried.
ReplyDeleteLove this look on you.
Plus your sewing stuff is an investment, you'll reap the economic returns as you go along.
LOVE.
ReplyDeleteOooooooh! I love it! The Thinking Man's Marilyn.
ReplyDeleteSmashing!
ReplyDeleteBeing a bottle blond myself, I've got to say that it's a lot of work and expense. I think that your natural hair color with highlights is gorgeous. (My natural hair color is medium brown and going gray, that is the reason that I'm blond.)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
ReplyDeletei love it! love the subtle 'degradé' fade too ;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
ReplyDeleteLoverly!
ReplyDeleteYou wear it well lady!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteyou really really suit this! a great change but not too drastic
ReplyDeleteLooks great! You pull it off spectacularly.
ReplyDeleteLove it! The color and cut are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteFunky, though I like you with dark hair too.
ReplyDeleteIt does look good but I think I LOVE you in your natural color... i hear you on the up keep.. I was a BRIGHT natural blonde when I was in my teens.. then it turned dark blonde.. and getting it highlighted was not only expensive but ... my hair got so dry.. hahaa
ReplyDeleteeither way.... you look great.. if you love it, that's all that should matter anyway!!!
I love it! The color is perfect and you look so bright! You need to keep it like this for a while.
ReplyDeleteLOVE
ReplyDeleteit.
I think it is cool. Although I liked the other as well.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think you're sexy? I know you didn't ask that overtly but I saw it in your eyes!;-) Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing! Just your hair cut alone is enviable but that color is so honey sweet!
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome! I really like it.
ReplyDeleteAndrea: Thanks!
ReplyDeleteKate: Thanks for the pep talk. And it's too bad you don't like yourself brunette. Maybe as you move into a new age and stage you'll like it better?
Sal: Merci
Tessa: What a compliment! Thanks!
Monkey: Thank you.
Belle: Thanks. I do think the upkeep may be absurd. I was enjoying the highlights but, the last time they were done, they went a bit wonky. I guess I can always go back to that if this gets too crazy.
Janet: Thanks!
Miss Sophie: You are so observant!
D., Heather, Fab and Miss C: Thank you all for your votes of confidence.
Pink: Um, my husband is thinking it's drastic :-)
Shallow: Thanks so much.
Orchids: I think my hairdresser did a particularly nice job pulling out different tones. Thanks!
Imogen: I'm happy to explore both sides of myself. But sometimes I feel shocked looking in the mirror now. I'm so truly pale :-)
April: Thank you - I think my mother will prefer the dark hair too :-) I remember seeing a photo of you with the blonde hair. I think it's perfect on you. Of course, you are versatile!
ReplyDeleteStacy: I will keep it like this for a while. For as long as I can get with the upkeep :-)
E: Thanks!
Mardel: I notice there are those who seem to be loving the change and others who are more inclined to
prefer the former colour. Wait till you see it in some other photos. I think I look less pale than I do here.
Bel: Those eyes are just for you :-) Thanks!
Ambika: Thank you so much. I really do enjoy the complexity of blondes she's given me.
Hanna: Thanks so much!
Love it. Works very nicely on you. But you dear can pull off most things with ease and grace.
ReplyDeleteE8: You are so sweet to me. Thank you, Kxo
ReplyDeleteThe colour looks perfect, totally suits you!
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those annoying people who has naturally light blonde hair but really wishes I was brunette! Let me tell you, dark regrowth is SO much more flattering than blonde regrowth...particularly as the latter tends to look GREY in comparison to dark brunette tones. Not a good look!
