In Case You Thought I Was Joking...

Kristin-made Skin Care
The recipe could have made 5 containers of peppermint lip balm, but I didn't know and I only had 4, so now I'm rubbing half set balm all over my legs and torso... Took 10 minutes to put this together and another 10 to clean up. Not to mention it smells and feels awesome. In a fancy store you'd have spent 15 bucks on it. Cost me about a dollar a container (and that was mostly the cost of the container).

And no, I will never buy lip balm again.

PS: This is edible (not that you'd want to eat locally-sourced, organic beeswax).

  1. Oh, you have a lucky bunch of friends! I can imagine these will make stellar gifts! (currently smearing Blistex cold sore balm on my lips -- my immune system is obviously protesting something)

  2. Frances: I hope so! Email me your address and I'll pop a container in the mail for you. We'll see how it travels.

    1. Absolutely. We need to make it on a long weekend so that I have a day to recover from work first. :-) Let's consider Family Day (if we're both not beyond tired then).

    1. It is so easy, it's ridiculous. Though I got my recipe from a book, there are numerous versions available online for free. Thing is, you do have to buy some supplies in order to make the balm - more than you'd likely use before it goes off (if that's all you do with it). So learn how to make lotion or body oil (SO simple) too.

  5. You are a marvel. These look delightful...and I suspect very welcome in your very cold climate.

    1. I wish I could claim marvel status, but really this was easy. I do think it turned out rather fancy though!
