I'm not sure if you ever watch Battlestar Galactica (my husband obviously controls the remote) but, on that show, they have this convention of using the term "frackin'" for its swearword equivalent. It sounds ridiculous and contrived, incidentally. I wonder if I could start working "pozkin'" like that :-)K.Linehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15350615302797686048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1606088928583067206.post-47620191894216771712008-02-27T20:27:00.000-05:002008-02-27T20:27:00.000-05:00I'm not aware of "pozkin" being a swearword. I loo...I'm not aware of "pozkin" being a swearword.

I look at "pozkin" as a nonsense word, with an onomotopoetic quality. It makes me think of some rotund little furry creature. Like someone's someone's small dog's name, or an adorable toddler: "aw, what a cute little pozkin." Kind of like grommet or sprog.

On the other hand, theoretically, you could sub it out for "f*ckin' " if you really needed to. It sort of sounds like that, too.Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03406942482508439839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1606088928583067206.post-28882950364401968292008-02-27T16:08:00.000-05:002008-02-27T16:08:00.000-05:00Riz: Hopefully today's post is more substantial (...Riz: Hopefully today's post is more substantial (though not about my fashion boyfriend, Rick).

Wendy: He's my boyfriend. But it's getting so hard that I think I may crack. Is "pozkin" dirty?

Ambika and Bronwyn: So glad you like the pics. The first look is smushy goodness...

Suzanna: I concur that Owens is completely wearable, though on this topic, my Lilies piece manages to be an off the shoulder, see-through top with a fringe at the waist. Given the boobs and the fact that I am not a model in NY, that means I had to figure out what to wear underneath to modify (or should I say modest-fy) the look. In the end, a top that was on sale from 300 bucks, still ended up costing me 300 bucks in accoutrments. I should do a post on it. It's one of my more fiscally imprudent, but fashion creative moments.K.Linehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15350615302797686048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1606088928583067206.post-86226090752629443482008-02-26T13:30:00.000-05:002008-02-26T13:30:00.000-05:00I love the first look. This business of how journalists were parsing it as not really wearable in toto, and urging him to expand beyond his historical imagination, and all that goth stuff. And yet, with the exception of some sketchy jodhpurs a couple collections back I see him as completely wearable and quite frankly not all that dark. He just doesn't make little dresses with spring posies on them.

To me, there is more of a "woolly mammoth" thing going on there that I really, really like; he and Braganza are my favorites in this direction.Suzanna Marshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14608476858881481560noreply@blogger.com
