Even if she didn't like it - she still used it. And she practically gave it to me, so I can't complain.K.Linehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15350615302797686048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1606088928583067206.post-65259178868082004512011-09-13T10:21:52.917-04:002011-09-13T10:21:52.917-04:00I love designer fabrics, but recently my teacher a...I love designer fabrics, but recently my teacher at the fashion school I go to told me some of the designer fabrics that are sold to people like us were never used because of their lack to produce nice garments. Not all of the fabrics jabbers get from the designers are as functional as they look. It might be just a pressing issue you have encountered, or it might be that the designer themselves couldn't use the fabric either. Just a thought.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1606088928583067206.post-15533021681643445292011-09-12T11:45:28.378-04:002011-09-12T11:45:28.378-04:00I feel your stress :-).I feel your stress :-).Susan Tinerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11900811284963063686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1606088928583067206.post-56312887779825109212011-09-11T09:06:03.254-04:002011-09-11T09:06:03.254-04:00Ruth: Gonna try that this morning. Will try the phased pressing and use a ham. I'm going to do that before serging the seams together to avoid serge lines from taking hold on the right side of the fabric. Really careful pressing. I have sewn all manner of fabrics with poly thread with no problems. But you need to press each side of the seam flat after sewing, before you press the seams open. I wrote a whole blog post about it, and I really do believe proper pressing makes all the difference. I also find that with princess seams, pressing over a ham is absolutely key. She says the Poly thread causes puckers. Hope it all works out for you!Linda Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08345674465845908156noreply@blogger.com
